Reconnex Partners with ArcSight to Provide Comprehensive Solution to Improve Early Detection of Information Leaks and Enhance Risk Protection
Joint Solution Provides Continuous Protection of Sensitive Data to Help Increase Security Effectiveness and Response
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., August 1, 2006 - Reconnex, the expert in Electronic Risk Protection, today announced that it is now a member of the ArcSight Enterprise Security Alliance (ESA) and that the Reconnex iGuard content monitoring and analysis solution is interoperable with ArcSight’s ESM Security Information Management (SIM) platform. The combined Reconnex/ArcSight solution can enhance an enterprise’s risk protection and remediation of both perimeter and “Insider Threat” events through analysis and correlation of real-time and historical events.
Only the Reconnex iGuard provides full visibility into network use by protecting all inbound and outbound information across all protocols, communications channels, and file types. Reconnex’s unique electronic risk protection capabilities allow enterprises to discover, monitor, and capture all network content and to perform searches on the captured content to detect unknown incidents. ArcSight offers a single integrated solution that centrally collects, correlates, and manages security and operations data from a number of event sources including Reconnex, to create an early-warning system designed to detect suspicious insider activity preceding insider threat attacks. With this early-warning system, ArcSight helps organizations reduce their risk from exposure to insider threats.
"More and more enterprises and government agencies are expressing the need for a solution that will help prevent the loss of sensitive and mission-critical information from their networks," said Steve Sommer, senior vice president of marketing and business development at ArcSight. "The integrated Reconnex iGuard and ArcSight ESM solution allows customers to protect this data, regardless of how it enters or leaves their network; search it; and correlate this information with data from other traditional network and security sources, enabling customers to detect insider threats much earlier."
Using the Reconnex iGuard in combination with ArcSight ESM provides enterprises with several advantages:
- ArcSight ESM will display information provided by iGuard about sensitive content leaving a network.
- Correlating content intelligence provided by iGuard with network events from other security and network devices will enable early warning of potential insider threats.
- The combined solution will provide security from networking to content, giving customers complete protection from risks that occur on the network
"Electronic risk protection is a key component of security best practices for the enterprise," said Kevin Cheek, vice president of product management at Reconnex. "By using the ArcSight Manager with the Reconnex iGuard, enterprises can implement a risk protection and threat correlation capability that radically improves security response and increases security effectiveness."
